CE marking is a requirement in the EU where products must comply with the set regulations in relation to the applicable legislation. However, the US system does not use CE marking and thus does not accept the marking on your products. If you do not CE mark a product, especially in the EU territories, you cannot sell your products. After all, CE marking is a requirement by the law if you want to sell your product in European Union Countries. Additionally, if a product is CE marked but is suspected of not being up to the standards and requirements, the manufacturer can be fined, or the product can be blacklisted or quarantined.
