To set up a charity or foundation in the Netherlands, you will require a civil law notary to draft a deed. The deed will state that you have created Stichting, listing its statutes. The deed also contains what location in the Netherlands the charity foundation will be based. One can start a foundation alone, with others, or as a partnership with other legal bodies; it can even start posthumously.
The statutes in the deed include the rules about the charity’s organization; you need a notary for any amendment to these statutes. After doing all these, the next and mandatory step is registering your stitching in the Dutch business register – the Handelsregister. You will do this at the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce KVK; not registering the Stichting means you are personally liable. Being liable means every member of the foundation’s committee will be held liable for any debts, like mismanagement or negligence.
To make the work easier, Buycompany.com can help with the registration process. The best way to avoid costly and avoidable mistakes is to hire the help of experienced hands and minds. Buycompany.com is a multinational legal firm with offices worldwide; it has over 100 lawyers cooperating across the globe. It is a one-stop shop for everything a business needs, ranging from corporate services to licenses and payment solutions.
