It is always hard to promise that any personal information on our online fronts are safer. However, there are features of virtual payment cards that makes it more secure compared to a physical card. Some companies such as Instacard, issue their customers with a one time use card. Therefore, even if your Instacard is compromised, the criminal might be out of time to fraud you since the card will already be deactivated. Additionally, with a virtual payment card you get a randomly generated number, with an expiration date and security code. To be more cautious you can set a spending limit with cards that are not single use, such that a value over the limit gets the card deactivated until you contacted.
